Anakin keeps to himself, but he's pretty easy to spot.
He's often in the kitchen, meticulously following a recipe and occasionally complaining under his breath that a 'pinch of salt' is frustratingly inaccurate. Oh, and do watch your head. He occasionally uses his telekinesis to draw things to him so there are pots and pans and even produce floating through the kitchen from time to time. He's good enough not to hit anyone or anything, but it's certainly a bit unusual if one has never met a Force-user.
Once or twice, he might be stopped in the playroom by one of the younger kids. Sometimes he's roped into drawing with them. Sometimes he's telling a dramatic story about a brave Wookie warrior, complete with voices and Force-assisted special effects (mostly moving puppets around and making the occasional toy float). His masters have chastised him for using the Force so casually from time to time, but he thinks even his strictest teachers couldn't fault him for bringing a smile to these kids' faces.
Playroom
It was hard enough being an adult in Trench. It always broke Ariadne's heart more than a little when she saw young people.
Most of the time, Ariadne saw the good in everything and everyone. But she had to admit, when she saw children, it was tempting to hate Trench. Just a little bit.
Still, based on her own experiences--and those of many friends--some people were better off here. So she liked to believe that the same might be the case for the children as well.
She was on her way to the kitchen when she heard a funny growl that didn't sound like any animal she'd ever seen. Distracted, she immediately turned around and walked to the playroom, leaning against the doorframe when she saw Anakin--the nice Anakin--entertaining the children with a story.
Wookie? She'd heard that before somewhere...

Then he turns his attention back to the children.
"Finally, the young Wookie returned to his village. The elder asked what he had learned. He said that he learned to work with nature, not against it. The elder turned to the rest of the village and said--"
Anakin makes an odd growl-trilling in the back of his throat, a bit like a roar. A few of the more energetic children try to emulate him.
"-- that means 'now you are truly a worthy warrior.'"

As the story ended, Ariadne led the children in a round of applause. It wasn't for show. It was just that Alastrians knew you needed to show appreciation for a story.
Smiling a little, she walked into the room, making her way over to Anakin. "That lesson is as true in your world as it is in mine," she said.

closed to Luke • Airy's garden • early May
Anakin is standing near the entrance in his light-weight brown robes reminiscent of his usual Jedi robes. He has a large bag with a ridiculous amount of snacks in it, which he's already broken into. He chews on a rice cracker and waits. Hopefully Luke shows up before he eats the entire bag of snacks.

He was still wearing his usual blacks, something that he was beginning to wonder if he should move past. He had started it in honor of his father -- accepting the man he once was and acknowledging what he had become. But now that he knew just how troubled he had been... he wasn't so sure it had been a wise thing to do.
He shook away his gloomy thoughts, instead leaning slightly to nudge Anakin once he got close enough.
"Is there anything left?" he teased, an amused smile on his face.
no subject
"Yeah, but you would've been out of luck if you'd been late."
He finishes his rice cake and dusts off the front of his robes. He turns and starts walking into the garden at a rather sedate pace, trusting Luke will fall into step next to him, like he usually does.

"What else did you bring, if I'm allowed to be curious?" he asked after a moment.

open • Airy's garden • mid-May
He can be found walking the pathways with the ever-present bugs seeming to avoid him as if he's wearing bug repellent, even though he's constantly munching on something. Every so often, he'll stop to read the plaques and rest a hand against the bark of the trees.
Anakin occasionally stops and meditates under a tree. He's easy to overlook, all tucked away on one of the piles of pillows lying around. In fact, the only easy way to spot him is by his omen, a large tusk cat, resting next to him. It doesn't seem overly interested in others. Rather, it simply stretches out in a patch of sunlight and waits for Anakin to come out of mediation.

But she digs for a piece of dried fish she had purchased that morning. Offering it up with a soft murmur. "Do you want it? It is tasty? It is all yours."
no subject
A voice comes from the bushes:
"Don't be too greedy, Silva."
From the shadows of one of the trees comes a teenager, brushing leaves and dirt off of his robes. His Omen doesn't seem to care about the gentle chastisement and continues to chew on the dried fish cheerfully.
"She didn't bother you, did she?"
His Omen is generally pretty easygoing, but he's still getting used to having an Omen at all.

And Gilia was glad to give them all.
Her own omen was nothing so grand or big, but the delicate floating creature idly floats like a living ornament, draped in Gilia's veil, tucked to hide against the back of her neck under it. Serene and painfully shy, but easy to see why: Sea-Dragons were delicate creatures with little in the way to protect themselves.
"Not at all. If anything I bothered her. I miss my Hounds from home, so I could not resist giving a treat to her."

His face is perfectly expressionless, and hidden from the sun by the wide brim of his traveler's hat. Every so often, though, D pauses and tilts his head to allow the sun to reach his skin.
None of the insects will come within about three feet of D. They all seem to get about that close and suddenly decide it's better to go in literally any other direction.
For a moment when Anakin first comes into sight, D's attention focuses on him so heavily it's almost like a physical weight. But whatever attracted his attention doesn't hold it, and D returns to an apparent state of tranquil disinterest.

"How are you keeping the bugs away?"
Anakin is using the Force, of course, but he doesn't sense any particular Force-sensitivity coming from the other man. ]

She looked up when she saw Anakin come towards her and then back to looking at the roses. When he came to the plaque beside her.
"They're Blue Moon Hybrid Tea Roses. Pretty, right?"

"Yeah. I wonder where Airy got some of these."

She'd gone out for food, again. That ever gnawing hunger that just never seems to leave. A bad of some fruit this time, although half of them are already gone as she traverses home. She does admire Ariadne's garden as she strolls by, stopping mid-bite as she sees a familiar-ish face, and breaks off to stroll down the pathway as well. "Enjoying the sun as well?"
no subject
Padme's voice gets a smile out of him, and he stops to give her a chance to catch up.
"I never thought I'd miss it so much."

Maul's presence in the Force is much unlike the last time he was in front of Anakin in person. While the Dark Side still swirls around him in a thick miasma, it's not nearly as oppressing and cloying with feelings of anger, hate, and fear like it normally is. Instead, it's subdued and quiet, almost tame as threads of calm and pensive energy weave through it. Here among nature, Maul can relax in a way he hasn't since he was a small child. He doesn't even notice Anakin coming up towards him.
Suddenly, a strange, pig-monkey creature comes divebombing out of the trees and lands in front of Anakin. It's a Mankey and he's got a glare in his red eyes. He hops about and screeches as if challenging the boy to a fight, waving his little paws like he's going to start boxing him at any moment.
Maul whirls around at the sound. "Cranky, don't do that to people! You'll--" Then he realizes who it is his Pokémon just did that too. "Oh, it's you," he says flatly and then waves a hand towards Cranky in a flippant manner. "Carry on then."
no subject
Anakin's Omen, a tusk cat, places herself firmly between the Mankey and Anakin. His jaw tightens and he glares at Maul before abruptly turning around to go back the way he came.
"Come on, Silva. He's not worth our time."

She smiled nervously and approached. "Um. Hey. It's--it's pretty here, isn't it?"
Wow, wasn't she the brilliant conversationalist?
no subject
"Yeah. Airy put a lot of work into it."
Speaking of brilliant conversationalists... Anakin is notoriously bad at smalltalk.

closed to Anakin Skywalker • Anakin Solo's house • mid-May
But some time has passed, Anakin Skywalker's soul bond was broken, and Obi-Wan is awake now. So he reaches out again with a short message via Omni, giving the older Anakin a time, place, and an admission that he hadn't gotten a chance to tell his grandfather everything.
So Anakin tidies up his ramshackle house as best he can and waits more than a little apprehensively.
no subject
"...Nice house." Is what he opens with because he has no better ideas. Anakin Jr is at best a few years younger than him, he hasn't figured out how to talk to someone who is should be more like a sibling rather than two generations after him.
no subject
Someone bad at small-talk, apparently. Anakin can sympathize.
He smiles. "Thanks. I got it for the workshop in the backyard, to be honest."
It's a nice workshop, though he hasn't had much time to tinker what with everything going on.
