"You've been able to handle yourself without me now and again," he remarked, though he knew that she was more than capable. She was one of the few that he respected both on and off the battlefield. "Please, beds are replaceable. I should know."

He rolled his eyes behind his mask, but otherwise, he was far more invested to see if this new 'trinket' would be helpful for the longer haul. A bit of relief from her ill fortunes might decrease the hilarity but also keep her safer.

"Now you're making it sound sexual," he replied dryly as he shook his head back and forth slowly and full of pseudo-judgement. He watched her make her trade and eased away after Vira did, falling to walk beside her elbow. "You think there's going to be an issue with another for this? I invite them to try." He practically purred that last bit, inviting a fight. "So far, I've been spared bad luck, and I'll stick to that." He had looked into what he would need in case it happened though. He was one for contingencies.

He shook his head now as if disappointed that she didn't just lean into it. He couldn't fault her for wanting a comfortable bed given all that she had been through and the fact that her head could roll thanks to magical dream decapitations of the past. "I suppose you have a good excuse why you need to preserve your bed. The last thing anyone needs to have to come and assist you in finding your head after its rolled somewhere inconvenient."

He shrugged his shoulders, figuring that it would be. "A powerful entity having a temper tantrum for not getting their way? That would never happen," he remarked dryly.

Reaper pretended to ignore any looks cast his way, as he definitely would be one to consider stealing her head and going on an adventure with her. Besides, she could still cuss him out the whole time, so it would be very exciting. "You clearly need to make better friends if someone would ever pull such a prank on you."

He snorted and rolled his shoulders. "They are troublesome. Besides, it's a good life lesson. I'm sure it will build character."

Perhaps one day he'd engage in such a prank and enjoy her cursing up a storm at him for it. Not now, not with her luck the way that it was and his being able to change on the whim of blood or whoever decided someone needed the extra excitement. "Well, with the way that this place has been stealing people back to the sea, it is best to keep those friends you have close."

Yet, like in Deerington, he and Vira and a handful of others persisted in staying.

"I've had so many life lessons that I just ignore the new ones that are trying to be taught to me. It makes life less of a pain in the ass. You should try it."
