[Oz reaches out with the intention of summoning his scythe, but stops. He could protect her if he tried. He knows that the B-Rabbit can defeat this creature, because he's done it before. He also knows that his power will consume him and turn him into a Beast himself.
But he can't risk Echo either.]

That? Hearing Oz actually say her name properly for the second time ever? That completely throws her. It takes her back to the only other time he ever did that, and that was...
She had been trying to get in another blow, but quickly comes to a halt. Echo just looks at him in shock from the other side of the Beast, a very faint pink coming to her cheeks. She can't focus on the deadly creature in front of her. Armelle is over by Oz and while the Omen can move fairly quickly, she's been responding to Echo's desire to protect.]
Y-You can still...
[She has no idea what is even happening after hearing that and it's obvious. Which, in the heat of battle, is a really bad thing.]

[Oz repeats her name for the third time ever. He sees her distracted and though he's not fully aware of why, he does know that he caused it. It doesn't matter if he gets hurt or if he dies again. Everyone else is working hard too-- Echo is even in danger because of it!
He closes his grip and was once a void turns into a solid red scythe, but its his red chains that pierce the Beast and force it away from Echo. Oz hurries to her side, offering himself as a shield. He knows his time is ticking. He's done this before, but-]

Armelle is quickly following him, for the record. Funnily enough, she was supposed to be acting as a shield for Oz as per Echo's wishes.
Echo gives her head another brief shake to organize her thoughts and tries to step around him, her swords up and at the ready.]
Of course. Please be cautious, Oz-sama. I should be able to deal with this.

[Oz can feel the Corruption taking hold. It darkens his thoughts and if he hadn't gone through this before then he might find it natural. His focus becomes Alice and Echo and he can't tell where to draw the line between 'protecting them' and 'killing for the sake of it.'
His chains pierce the Beast and hold it down while Oz raises his scythe over his head. His eyes have gone red and he doesn't hesitate to tear it in half with the blood red blade. With the deed done so easily, Oz slams the blade into the ground and leans against the pole. He's drenched in blood, but he can't tell where the line between his body and madness is anymore.]
O, okay. That's done. It's easy. I shouldn't have hesitated from the start, huh..?

So she gives an awkward frown as her blush comes back a bit again, unable to make direct eye contact with him for long.]

She shoves her way forth now that everything is clear. Sorta clear. Aside from like the beast guts and stuff but whatever that doesn't count since it can't hurt you. ]
Right? It's so easy! Don't let them hurt you or anyone else before you slash them up and they won't!

Right. Right-- If I strike first, then we don't have to hurt anymore... Alice.
[Chains shoot out from under his feet, spinning around like whips to push everyone away from himself and Alice. Oz gasps at first when he realizes what he's doing, but that gasp also serves to break his soft laugh. When the laughter starts up again, his voice has lost its confused tone and is resolved to violence. Oz clenches his scythe tightly and feels claws-- his claws-- beginning to dig into his palms.]

Unfortunately, Echo has no idea what to do. She hasn't witnessed beast transformations here, nor has she seen Oz physically take his true form before. So she just gazes in their direction and cries out.]
