I wasn't taking their future dating prospects into mind. I know they can survive, but I know it's increasingly unlikely the longer they're trapped in cement. It's the site of a large crash, in a busy, public space. Most of the group will be covered by the contents of a quickly moving cement truck. The longer rescue takes, the harder the cement becomes. It's possible some will live, it's very likely many would die. I'd consider it with the same knowledge that while kids have survived being hit by vehicles, it's such a low chance that I need to make my decision with the conclusion that he'd die.

But that's not the root of the question. I have a lot of follow-up questions if it's about semantics, but it's about who I'm willing to sacrifice.
