"No idea where or what it is, but I've not seen any Zealots lurking about. Small mercies, it would seem." He looks up, glancing about. "Not to say it's uninhabited, either." He nods toward an arrow pointer etched into the wall with some angular letters carved below it. "KEEP MOVING. IT MOVES FAST."

"Whoever wrote that has seen what lies in this place," she said carefully, pitching her voice more low to keep from drawing attention. "I imagine that's from people trapped in this place before. It, though... It would seem to indicate that there is something here that is definitely not the Zealots. Perhaps a monster?"

"I've glimpsed what walks these halls," he says, glancing over his shoulder as if keeping watch for the intruder. "I've not seen what it is, but I would rather avoid being its prey."

"Not one of them then," she nodded with a carefully measured tone. there were no sounds, no chuffs, no distant roars, but she was on edge. "But the danger is formless, unknown. It reminds me a lot of ... well, back then. More the nameless horrors of that place and time. As you said, we should keep moving, and be careful."

As she started to walk again, one hand ran along the walls and she frowned. "Is it worth it to map such a place as this? Will we return?"

"If it was a Zealot, I don't think we'd be having the conversation," he says with a small smirk. "If it were a Beast, there would be a lot more noise. But it does have a habit of breathing down the back of your neck

"I wouldn't try to map it: I tried scratching hash marks on the walls, to see if I was passing the same spot, but the hallways seem to keep shifting themselves. I suspect the Tower has a hand in this place, albeit without their little pets coming out to play."

"That sounds... it sounds like more of a being that is specific to what we encounter within this place," she muttered. "Like it's a curse of some sort." The fact that they would be able to keep finding this place from time to time? That would be concerning in and of itself.

"Of course they do. If they're constantly shifting, it will make this place remains something of a mystery. Nothing can ever be simple."

"It could be a general liminal space, a backroom or a utility space between the domain of our hosts and the space that Trench occupies. Or it could be expressing itself to resemble a backroom.

"Mind the floor: there are random holes in places, though... they appear to be the way out of this place, wherever it is," he says, looking to the floor.

"Hmmm. So, you're thinking of this as possibly a space that lies between spaces. One which takes this strange, surreal form?" she said, gesturing to it all. "Perhaps he explanation for why it is so... unfinished?"

She walked along a bit more carefully.

"It's a bit like accounts I've read of Shadow People: those appear to be spiritual parasites of some kind, except they haven't figured out how to get inside the head of the person observing them, thus they appear as vaguely humanoid shadow figures. This place... either hasn't been expressed fully or was never intended to be more than what it is. Perhaps in due time, we shall discover more. Or our hosts will redecorate it," he says, leading the way, his hidden gaze turned to the floor, when he doesn't dart a glance backward.

"Possible. I don't feel like anything is trying to possess me? But I do think you're right. There's a sense in the way it flows that it feels almost like it is unfinished. Perhaps even the unfinished portions of trench?" It wasn't entirely clear and the lack of any information was infuriating. Noticing his gaze backwards, she kept her guard up, frowning.

"I would imagine a world as relatively young as this, already in a state of being shaped by a race of reality benders, would have some unfinished areas. But ones that we perceive as what look like utility corridors in a mixed-use facility?" The place has started reminding him of disquietingly of some non-public-facing spaces in the bowels of some Umbrella facilities.

Something rumbles behind them. If allowed, he'll reach out and put a protective hand behind her shoulder. "We've got incoming."

She considered for a moment. "It's difficult to say..." However any further comment was lost. The rumbles could be heard in the distance. She thought about staying to fight, but no. no. She somehow was certain how unwise it was. She made a hissing sound and beckoned, starting to run at a nearly breakneck pace.

The sounds were still far away. they had time, right? But where did they go?
